Clip for the day:
[link] It's a good argument.
Okay, I know I don't come here as often as I should. get over it. I have a life away from the computer and anyone with a problem with that can

for all I care.
My parents are preachers or have been preachers. All four. (that's two biological and two step in case you're wondering) So the Christian Holy Week is akin to Hell Week in boot camp as are the weeks leading up to it for me. And frankly, I am not really feeling all that religious this year.
I mean, I know that this is one of the weeks that people of the christian faith all reaffirm their faith in Jesus Christ and God and all that, but I just don't feel really up to going and worshiping God when all the death and suffering in the world is still going on. And America has been adding to the problem. There are lots of religions out there that are monotheistic, and my response to all the religions that say that theirs is the only one is that maybe they are ALL right. Maybe they are all worshiping the same God but with a different name?
Before everybody flames me and calls me crazy, think about this for a second here. The three biggest religions that I can find are thus: Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. They all believe in one God. My proposal is thus: Same god for all three, different names. Now, from a Christian's perspective, Jesus had many names and things that people called him, yes? well, who's to say that he didn't get the idea from dear ol' dad, right? The Islamic, correct me if I'm wrong, believe that there is only one God and his name is Allah. The Hebrews, Jewish people, etc. you know who you are, all believe in the God that showed himself to Moses, (I could be wrong here) Jehovah. Christians believe in Yahweh, or Jehovah, and his son, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Who's to say that it isn't the same damn deity? The people of all three claim that their god is omnipotent and omnipresent, thus better than the others. Who's to say it isn't the same higher being?
And yet we as humans kill for the argument of who's religion is better than who's. Frankly, the thought of a deity that actively wants people to die for his cause and lose their lives sickens me as a person. I believe that humanity is better than that. I believe that the Deity (whichever it may be) is better than that. I know that I am better than that.
And I end this session of religious banter with something that will make you think: Do you know that you are better than that?
